At Dental Smiles At Dacula, we are able to provide our community with high-quality care throughout your appointment. With digital dentistry, we can enhance patient care and make your visit to our office more comfortable, reliable, and faster than ever before.

What is digital dentistry?

Digital dentistry is the use of computer-based or digital components to examine, diagnose, and treat various oral health conditions.

CAD/CAM and 3D Printing

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technology make it easier and more comfortable for patients to design and create dental restorations such as porcelain crowns, bridges, veneers, and implants. Traditionally, restorations were made by taking molds of your mouth but with computer-aided technology and intraoral cameras, our office can use a 3D image of your mouth to design and manufacture your custom restoration within a single appointment.

Digital Radiography

Traditional x-rays required film processing which took time to be printed, delivered to the office, and reviewed by dentists. Thanks to advances in technology, digital x-rays enable us to view the images on a computer screen where they can be enhanced, enlarged, and stored in a computer for easy access.

Intra-Oral Cameras

Intra-oral cameras are tiny wand-like cameras used to examine your mouth. The size allows the dentist to see inside your mouth clearly as the images can be displayed on a large screen making it easier to identify any potential concerns.

Benefits of Digital Dentistry

Digital dentistry has improved our ability to provide quality care to our patients as these advancements can help accurately identify, diagnose, and treat oral health conditions before they progress into severe stages. These forms of digital dentistry also enable us to reduce time spent in our office and provide you with a more comfortable experience while you are in our office.

The Medit i500 is an intraoral scanner that enables your dentist to create high-resolution images of the inside of your mouth. An intraoral camera is a small wand-like device that contains a tiny camera that is able to provide your dentist with a detailed view of your mouth–even in the hard-to-reach areas.

By using this technology, your dentist is able to examine, diagnose, and treat any oral health conditions faster and more accurately than before. With the Medit i500, we can even create a steady 3D motion video and allow us to use these scans and images to create custom restorations.

The lightweight nature of the device and slim design were created with your patient comfort in mind. With these advanced pieces of technology, we can reduce your time spent in our office and improve your experience. The images taken with Medit i500 can also be enlarged and displayed on screen during your visit so that you can have a better understanding of your oral health and areas that may need improvement.
